Unravelling the mystery of consciousness

Consciousness science is still a young science, though it addresses an age-old question: What is the biological basis of experience?  Our research addresses this question from several different angles, embodied in our various Research Groups (see menu on the left). Our work has also been featured in the Sussex Research Review, both in 2010 and in 2013, where we featured in the University of Sussex 5 year strategic plan as the single 'case study' for research excellence  See http://www.sussex.ac.uk/aboutus/ourstrategy/research.

Our mission is to combine exciting advances in the basic science of consciousness with clinical impact and public outreach, to inspire and train new generations of consciousness scientists, and to make a better future for us all.
