Welcome Week takes place between Monday 22 and Friday 26 September 2025

There are a number of Welcome Week activities for you to attend. Find details of the timetables below.

New undergraduate students

View the Welcome Week schedule of activities for your subject. 

The Meet is a half-day (3.5 hour) programme designed to help you transition into university life and degree-level study, and to enable you to meet and make connections with your peers, your Academic Advisor, and our Psychology student mentors.

Attendance at The Meet is expected for all Psychology students. You will receive an email to your Sussex email address the week before Welcome Week, confirming who your Academic Advisor is and which half day you will be attending The Meet.

Explore The Meet canvas module before you attend! Please also note the short list of instructions to prepare for the Meet, including informing us of dietary and access needs that you might have. In the meantime, please complete the student information form.

Psychology BSc (Hons)

TUESDAY 23 SEPTEMBER

3pm - 5pm – Jubilee Lecture Theatre

Year 1 School Welcome with Professor Alison Pike (Head of the School of Psychology), Dr Karen Long (Head of Student Experience) and Dr Heather Taylor (Academic Advising).

WEDNESDAY 24 SEPTEMBER

10am - 1.30pm – Conference Suite, Bramber House

The Meet: Group 1 & 2 - Meet your academic advisor and your classmates

Food will be served between 1pm and 1.30pm for attendees of the morning session.

2.30pm - 6pm – Conference Suite, Bramber House

The Meet: Group 3 & 4 - Meet your academic advisor and your classmates

Food will be served between 5.30pm and 6pm for attendees of the afternoon session.

THURSDAY 25 SEPTEMBER

10am - 1.30pm – Conference Suite, Bramber House

Food will be served between 1pm and 1.30pm for attendees of the morning session.

A social event and an opportunity to hear from the University's Vice Chancellor, Professor Sasha Roseneil and the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Medicine, Professor Luc Moreau.

After the talks you will have the chance to meet with Sussex staff and fellow students, talk to the Spirit of Sussex Team and enjoy our photobooth and freshly baked cookies. Places are limited so please do book your free place as soon as possible.
