My research focuses on neuronal mechanisms underlying addiction to drugs of abuse. Using both molecular and behavioural techniques I hope to elucidate the role of GABAA alpha4 subunits within the Basal Ganglia, with particular reference to the medium spiny neurons of the Nucleus Accumbens.
