Mrs Felicity Clarkson CBE
Member appointed by Council (first appointed: 1 August 2005, end of tenure: 31 July 2014).
Felicity studied Psychology at Sussex in the 1960s and gained a postgraduate qualification in Clincial Psychology from the Tavistock Institute. She worked a s a psychologist in the Prison Service, including for 10 years at HM Borstal, Feltham, with disturbed young offenders.
As a senior civil servant in the Home Office, she worked on a wide range of Home Office policies, including counter-terrorism, asylum, and juvenile offender policy. While working in the Prison Service from 1997-2000, she led innovative work on new regimes for boys under 18 years held in prison custody. She was awarded the CBE for this work.
Since retirement from full-time work Felicity has worked as an assessor for the Cabinet Office's fast stream recruitment programme.
