Doctoral Tutor presents poster at prestigious competition in Parliament

Doctoral Tutor Daniela Koeck was selected to present her poster in Parliament at the prestigious STEM for BRITAIN poster competition on 9 March.
Early-career research scientists, engineers, technologists and mathematicians are selected to present their work in the areas of Biological and Biomedical Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, Mathematical Sciences and Physics.
Daniela's research involves analysing data from the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The LHC is one of the worlds largest particle colliders, and ATLAS is one of the two collaborations which discovered the Higgs Boson particle in 2012. She is searching for Dark Matter and Supersymmetry in the collisions collected by the ATLAS experiment.
Daniela said: "I was thrilled to show my work, and that of other colleagues at Sussex, to parliamentarians. I presented a poster explaining how the ATLAS experiment selects interesting events with electrons. In those collisions, we could spot new physics like Dark Matter!”
