Welcome to the Department of Mathematics

PhD studentships in Mathematics for September 2015 admission are advertised here.

Overseas (ex-EU) students!  If you are seeking a Sussex Chancellor's award you must apply now.

The Department of Mathematics is currently offering seven fully-funded PhD studentships. These studentships pay a tax-free bursary of £13863 per year, plus a fee waiver worth £3996 per year, for 3.5 years.  These awards are available to UK and EU students.

The Department hopes to obtain at least one studentship for an Overseas (Ex-EU) student via the Sussex Chancellor's awards.

The increased investment in scholarships reflects the Department's recent growth in faculty and its continuing success in attracting funding from research councils, including the award of an EPSRC Doctoral Training Grant.
