Biography

Biography
David Robinson graduated from the University of London in 1967 and moved to Sussex in 1970 after 3 years as a post-graduate Tutor at Kings College, London.

His research is focused on rock weathering and soil erosion processes especially in chalk and sandstone terrains and in recent years with particular reference to coastal environments. Alone and with a variety of co-authors he has published over 100 academic papers in journals, books and the proceedings of academic conferences.

During 45 years as a full time member of academic staff he held a number of senior administrative posts including 6 years as Dean of the School of African and Asian Studies and 4 as the University's Director of Academic Programmes.

He is currently Emeritus Reader in Physical Geography.

He was Treasurer and an Executive Committee member of the British Society for Geomorphology 2006-2011
