We are pleased to be able to inform you that the Centre for World Environmental History (CWEH – University of Sussex) have been successful in receiving funding through the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) for the abovementioned research network. The aims of the network are to facilitate collaborative research on the meteorological and botanical history of the India Ocean World (IOW), 1600-1900. This is a pioneering project to integrate the eclectic disciplines involved in the environmental history of the IOW in order to benefit research into developmental and policy issues, climatology and cultural studies of the environment.
