Research

Molecular ecology and conservation biology of amphibians

The use of polymorphic genetic markers, especially microsatellite loci, to investigate the population structures of wild amphibians in Britain and Europe. The application of genetical and ecological approaches to the conservation of amphibians and their habitats. The significance of genetic variation in the long- term viability of amphibian populations and the consequences of isolation and inbreeding.
