 Introduction

The aim of the research is to investigate the 4th Generation (4G) mobile systems, in order to address key challenging
issues and limitations so as to provide improved and efficient schemes to meet the global demand for improved
system capacity. It is proposed to examine physical network coding within LTE-advanced systems.

 Challenges

• Physical layer network coding design in multi-antenna and multi-carrier systems
• Cooperative communications with the use of portable and moving mobile relay stations
