Priority areas for development

We will seek to increase undergraduate and postgraduate student numbers significantly, by increasing capacity in popular areas. We will ensure the new areas preserve the unique characteristics of a Sussex education and build capacity by improving interdisciplinary links between areas where we are already strong.

Biomedical Science

building on the complementary strengths of Life Sciences at Sussex, the Brighton and Sussex Medical School and other partner institutions

Business and Management

including links to development studies, the public and voluntary sector and creative arts

Digital Media

establishing stronger interdisciplinary links between Film and Media, Informatics and Engineering, and Social Psychology

International Security

encompassing all aspects of security including computer, energy and climate security, and other dimensions of global uncertainty

Languages

creating opportunities to develop skills in world languages such as Arabic and Mandarin
