Understanding Sussex Plus
Students increasingly look for wider life skills such as leadership, personal initiative, social entrepreneuship and team working, which can be gained through extra-curricular and non-academic activities, such as volunteering in local schools, setting up a student enterprise or being active in student media.
The new Sussex Plus initiative will help Sussex students develop and document these wider life skills, boosted by a workshop and coaching programme.
At the end of their degree, having invested around two hours a week on Sussex Plus activities, students will have gained important experience, and improved their employability. Their efforts will be formally recorded on the degree transcript, helping Sussex graduates build a strong CV and embark on a successful career.
