Sussexsport

Outdoor fitness

Open to all University of Sussex students and staff, no membership required: get out and get active.

The area will provide additional training space and development for our Sport Scholars and Students' Union sport clubs and is also open to all University of Sussex staff and students during general opening times.

  • The area is open to all University of Sussex students and staff. You do not need a Sussexsport membership to use this space.
  • The area is not open to the general public: it is a training area for the campus population and Sussexsport members.
  • You must check-in with our reception before using the area; if it's your first visit and you're not a member of Sussexsport, you will need to complete a health commitment statement before training.
  • Sussexsport will have full control over closure of the area (due to adverse weather conditions, for example), and this will be at the discretion of the Duty Manager at the Falmer Sports Complex.
  • Additional training and fitness equipment (such as Kettlebells, TRX ropes etc.) can only be used when a supervised training session is taking place; please do not bring your own equipment to the space.
  • Please check the weather ahead of using the space and wear appropriate clothing and sun protection cream if neccesary. Approved footwear for outdoor pitches can be found here.

Group exercise classes run twice weekly as part of our group exercise programme, so you can try out the space with the guidance of top instructors.

Just remember to check-in at the Falmer Sports Complex reception before your session.
