Students from all around the world come to study sociology at Sussex, in areas such as cosmopolitanism, racism and globalisation, political sociology, sexual violence, sociology of consumption, intellectual migration, masculinities and femininities, clinical research and mental health, gender and the body, regulation, various dimensions of networking, etc.
With faculty members publishing in top academic journals such as Sociology, The Sociological Review, The American Journal of Sociology, Social Studies of Science, Sociology of Health and Illness and Theory, Culture and Sociology, as well as participating in student-led Research in Progress Seminars, research in our Department is stimulating, innovative and creates a vibrant community.
The Sociology Postgraduate forum was launched by research students from the Department of Sociology in 2010 as a platform on which to exchange information about the various events occurring, research projects and professional development opportunities at the University of Sussex.
