Biography

BA, Ph.D Cambridge.

I have held teaching posts at Sussex since 1966, and am now retired from a fulltime appointment. I was appointed Professor of Social Psychology in 1994. From 1994 to 2001 I was editor of the Journal of Cross-Cultural Psychology. From 2002-2004, I was President of the International Association for Cross-Cultural Psychology.

Research

My principal interests are in cross-cultural psychology. In recent years, I have completed a series of studies focussed upon aspects of managerial behaviour in more than 60 nations. My current project concerns the ways in which persons working with those from other nations handle the specific types of problems that arise.

Teaching

I supervise doctoral research, but am no longer engaged in undergraduate teaching.
