Role

I am PhD candidate in Sociology at the University of Sussex, researching on transnational migrant families. My PhD is on the transformation of family life within transnational social space and the construction of transnational familyhood between Turkish migrants in Japan and their left-behind families in Turkey. I hold an MS in Social Anthropology and BS in Sociology at the Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey. Before and during my PhD, I have volunteered with various charities working with refugees and asylum seekers in Turkey and the UK.
