I am a social and cultural historian of modern Britain specializing in the modern working class, memory studies, social activism and the history of social research. Before taking up my post as a teaching fellow I held research positions at the universities of York and Manchester. As ESRC fellow at the Centre for Research on Socio-Cultural Change (CRESC) I established the  multidisciplinary research network 'new class studies' with colleagues from sociology, geography and history. See below for further information on my research and teaching.

Teaching fellow in History.
