Research Impact and Engagement

Politics at Sussex (submitted to REF2021's sub-panel 25 on Area Studies) impacts on the non-academic world through extensive contacts and work with governments, international agencies, political parties, think-tanks, NGOs and the media.

Politics Impact and Engagement Stragegy

The Department's impact and engagement strategy is integrated into individual research planning and support. All staff are encouraged to engage with the various stakeholders set out above to ensure that their work has the widest reach possible and contributes to knowledge and practice in relevant fields.

Staff are supported in developing the impact and knowledge exchange dimensions of their research by the Department's own Research Lead currently Paul Webb and Impact Lead Liz David-Barrett, as well as by designated impact officers in the School of Law, Politics and Sociology, and the LPS Research and Enterprise Coordinators.

Below is a selection of recent engagement activities illustrating the Department's research. Please contact the authors using the links provided if you would like to know more.
