We are accepting nominations for the School of Life Sciences Kroto Award for Public Engagement, which recognises current staff who are committed to public engagement with research. Criteria: - The competition is open to all staff across the School of Life Sciences. - The School is looking for nominees with a commitment to public engagement over the recent 18 months. This could involve a wide range of activities, from patient involvement to hands-on demonstrations or art displays. - The audiences can vary from school children to patients to the general public, but should not include a scientific audience above school level. - Judges will be marking nominations on: the activity and its relevance to the audience, immediate impact and the potential long-term impact on society. - Your nomination must be for a single person, self-nominations will be accepted. Deadline: Friday 13 May The winner will receive a £1,000 prize to support their public engagement work. They will be announced and invited to deliver a talk at the Chemical Landmark Blue Plaque Unveiling event in honour of Sir Harry Kroto on 17 June 2022.
