Sussex Law School runs a series of negotiation workshops in the autumn term, aided by a professional solicitor from DMH Stallard and a member of faculty. The workshops lead into an internal competition sponsored by DMH Stallard. Students take part in pairs.
The rounds are judged by faculty members and the competition final is judged by a panel that includes partners from the firm. Winners receive work placements and cash prizes and go on to represent Sussex at the National Competition, where we frequently reach the finals. We have also represented England in the international competition finals, held in Malibu, California. This year Sussex Law School sent two pairs to the regional heat of the national competition. Both teams did well and one of our pairs went on to compete in the final.
