Client interviewing helps train and test students’ fact-finding and interviewing skills. Sussex Law School runs a series of workshops in the autumn term that feed into an internal competition sponsored by DMH Stallard.
In the competition, pairs of students interview actors pretending to be clients. The early rounds are judged by faculty and the final by a panel including a partner from DMH Stallard. The winners receive work placements and cash prizes kindly donated by the firm.
The winning team are also funded to represent SLS in the regional rounds of the National Client Interviewing Competition. Sussex Law School is widely recognised as providing its students with good training and our teams often compete in the final of the UK competition. Winning teams go forward to compete in the Louis Brown International Client Counselling competition.
