Sussex Centre for Language Studies

Social programme

The Sussex Centre for Language Studies is proud to offer you excursions to some of the most famous cities and places of historic/cultural interest in the UK and Europe. There will be trips to several destinations every weekend and some afternoons. The trips are organised and run by Sussex Centre for Language Studies' partner Discovery Tours.

If you want to reserve a place on any of the excursions please speak to the receptionist in the Language Learning Centre.

For a list of available excursions and price list, please refer to the Discovery Tours website.

All bookings are subject to our terms and conditions.

If you want to participate in an excursion to a destination outside the UK then it is your responsibility to ensure that you have the correct documents and visas required to travel to those countries.

Terms and conditions

Once a booking has been made, no refunds can be given. Brochure descriptions are accurate at the time of printing but we reserve the right to amend the itinerary as circumstances dictate; although all advertised components of the tour will be included they may not take place in the order described. In the event that we have to cancel any tour due to insufficient numbers then a full refund will be given. Notification of cancelled tours will be given at least 3 days prior to trip departure dates. Students are required to be at departure points 15 minutes prior to departure of the tour. Students are required to ensure they have the correct documents for travel to European destinations; including passports and visas which are required by some nationalities. We use the services of other agents such as ferry companies, coach operators, and hotels. We can not be held responsible for the failure of any of these companies to supply the services required or for any delays resulting in such failure. In the event that any of our suppliers are unable to deliver the services required we will make every effort to make alternative arrangements so that the trip takes place or continues as per the schedule.

During the summer we usually run extra activities on campus and in Brighton and other nearby towns and villages, for example tours of Brighton and Lewes, a trip to Kipling's garden, countryside walks, sports, cinema and even supermarket visits!
