- Deutsche Welle Radio & TV have an extensive site; aside from the expected news and schedules, they have a daily audio Langsam gesprochene Nachrichten (Slowly-spoken News) with transcript, and Wort der Woche.
- Die Welt - online version of the big daily.
- Der Spiegel - selected articles from the political magazine.
- Stern - "Germany's largest illustrated weekly"
- Wiener Zeitung is an Austrian newspaper.
- GermNews gives a concise summary of the day's news (also available in English), with an archive going back more than a decade and even a glossary.
- ZDF is the German TV channel available via satellite in the Language Learning Centre - their programme schedules are on-line.

- Phonetics: The Sounds of German - animated articulatory diagrams from the University of Iowa (requires Flash 7 or above).
- German for Travellers, a good beginners course online - text/picture/audio/video exercises, grammar, exams and quality links elsewhere.
- Literaturwelt - a jumping-off point for German literature on the Internet.
- The Goethe-Institut is an official organisation which represents and promotes German culture and language world-wide. Their website includes a lot of teaching material.
