The HCT Group researches the way technologies fit into people's everyday lives. It is developing design methodologies and frameworks that incorporate direct research with users into educational, psychological and sociological theories. These have been applied to ranges of technologies from the desktop to handheld devices, with particular interests in mobile, tangible and ubiquitous technologies and the embodied interactions these afford; domains including: learning, creativity, play, games, software programming (exploitation of multiple representations and pair programming), the home, ageing in place, and healthcare/telecare; and user groups including children, teachers, families, older and disabled people.
