Brexit - for staff and students

Overview

In a referendum on 23 June 2016, the UK electorate voted to leave the European Union (EU).

Our staff and students from EU countries are a valued part of the Sussex community, and it is a priority for us to ensure they can continue to work and study with us.

We also want to make sure that researchers and students involved in EU funded programmes can continue to fully collaborate and participate in these initiatives.

We know many of our community will have questions about what this will mean for them personally. Others will want to keep up to date with information on developments, which could impact the higher education sector, or find ways to support members of the Sussex community who may be affected by the referendum result.

This information hub has been set up to provide news on developments, as they become known, and to provide a way for people to contact those within the University who may be able to provide them with information.

You can also choose to sign up on the Home Office website for email updates about developments on the status of EU nationals after the UK leaves the EU, and the next steps for EU nationals in the UK (including what they may need to do to confirm their status).
