The following prizes are awarded annually to undergraduate students in the History Department:
The Rose Prize
The Rose Prize was set up by the historian and biographer Kenneth Rose in the 1970s to encourage promising historians at Sussex. It is awarded annually to the best History finalist.
The Gladstone Memorial Prize
The prize alternates between Politics, Economics and History and is awarded to the best essay or dissertation. Categories include Modern British Politics, Economics and British Political History Since 1800.
History Dissertation Prize
This prize, which began in 2006, is awarded for the best History dissertation.
