Undergraduate study

Sussex has one of the leading History Departments in the country:
  • History at Sussex was ranked 3rd (98 per cent) in the teaching category and 8th (96 per cent) for overall satisfaction in the 2012 National Student Survey (NSS). 
  • History at Sussex is ranked 11th in the UK in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2012 and in the top 20 in the UK in The Times Good University Guide 2013 and The Complete University Guide 2012-13.

As a history student at Sussex you will be part of an intellectually exciting community of teaching and learning.  

As you progress through your degree, you will actively focus your studies and research and you will explore different ways in which history has been written and experienced.
