OMERO
OMERO is a platform for visualising, managing, and annotating biological image data. OMERO is available in the Centre for microscope users to store all their images.
OMERO server
The OMERO server is hosted within the University's High Performance Computing (HPC) architecture. The server data is backed up nightly providing a secure long-term storage option for your images.
OMERO clients
The OMERO clients provide image visualization, management and annotation tools that work from any remote location.
The clients are available on all the microscope workstations and the windows desktops image in the Centre. Feel free to download and install the OMERO clients on your own computer.
OMERO.insight
OMERO.insight provides a number of tools for accessing and using data stored on the OMERO server. It provides the ability to load images using OMERO.importer.
OMERO.importer
OMERO.importer loads image data files into the OMERO Server. Files are selected using a standard file browser and multiple imports can be run consecutively.
OMERO.editor
This tool is designed to facilitate recording of experimental metadata for annotation of images in OMERO.
OMERO.webclient
This allows you to access, view and organise your OMERO image data from any web browser. However you cannot import new images into OMERO.
The web client can be accessed here: http://omero.lifesci.sussex.ac.uk/omero/webclient/
OMERO and ImageJ
ImageJ can be used as a tool to analyse your images. ImageJ is installed on all the workstations within the centre. Use the OMERO plugin (menu item: Plugins > OMERO) to access your image files from the OMERO server and load them directly into ImageJ.
Access to OMERO
OMERO requires a username and password. Please see Bernie Broughton or Alex Herbert to request access. See the Client setup page for details of how to connect to OMERO.
