Accommodation

We have over 850 bedrooms available during the summer vacation to suit a range of budgets. Bedding, towels, soap and a small vanity pack of essentials, as well as a daily housekeeping service and tea and coffee making facilities are provided. All accommodation is within easy access of the Conference Centre and other campus facilities. Bed and breakfast, half board and 24-hour rates are available.

En-suite accommodation

North Field Residence with its woodland setting, barn-house social space and high-quality en-suite rooms opened its doors to Conferences & Events in 2012. Teamed with our 2008 premises Swanborough, we now have 500 en-suite bedrooms available during the summer vacation period, including 14 rooms which have been designed for wheelchair users. Several bedrooms are fitted with mobile fire alarms for visitors with hearing or visual impairments. The accommodation is arranged in flats of six or seven single en-suite bedrooms with shared kitchen/lounge facilities.

Standard Accommodation

Located in Lewes Court, the standard accommodation consists of 238 bedrooms, each with a washbasin, arranged in flats of five or six single bedrooms with shared bathroom and kitchen/lounge facilities. Four of these flats include an en-suite room designed for wheelchair users with accessible kitchen/lounge facilities.

Budget Accommodation

Perfect for schools or student groups, Lancaster House accommodates 120 people in single study bedrooms, each with a washbasin. Bathroom facilities and a compact kitchen are shared between ten to twelve people on each corridor.

Special Requirements

In addition to the adapted rooms in Swanborough and Lewes Court (see above), Kulukundis is a specially designed unit for visitors with special requirements and/or mobility restrictions. The accommodation includes four bedrooms, two specially equipped bathrooms, kitchen/lounge and a helper's flat. Kulukundis is located within a short distance of Bramber House where dining facilities are easily accessible.

When booking your conference, please let us know of any additional special requirements and we will do our best to accommodate them.

Internet and Telephone

Wired Internet access is available for delegates to access the internet from their bedrooms. There is no charge for this service, however delegates will need to re-configure their machine in order to get access to the campus network. Instructions on how to do this are provided in bedrooms and can be found on the ITS website. They will also need to provide their own network cable. Please visit Information for Delegates for further information.

Every bedroom on campus is equipped with a telephone which can be used to make and receive internal and external calls. Full details on how to operate the telephones can obtained from the accommodation reception upon arrival. Calls between and within the residences are free of charge whilst external calls are charged at less than mobile and BT rates.

Other Accommodation

During the summer vacation (end June to mid September) rooms are available to book at BrighthelmEast Slope, Lewes Court Phase I,  Park Village, Park Houses, Stanmer Court and some off campus houses on a short term basis. These rooms are available to the general public as well as to members of the University.  The usual minimum booking is for one week, however, if you are booking for a large group, we will consider a shorter booking - please let us know that you wish to make a group booking when you contact us.
