The Dean of the University of Sussex Business School travelled to several locations in Asia in August 2018 to meet donors, engage with alumni and discuss placement opportunities for Business School students, bolstering existing partnerships and creating new ones.
Professor Steven McGuire, accompanied by Professor Alan Dolton (School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences), Clifford Tapp (Executive Development Manager, Development and Alumni Relations Office) and a wider delegation of Sussex staff, began the trip on 20 August in Hong Kong to meet with prospective placement employers and research collaborators.
Professor McGuire then engaged with alumni, business leaders and donors in Kuala Lumpur and met with staff and students at Xiamen University Malaysia before the trip concluded on 24 August in Singapore.
Professor McGuire commented:
"It’s always exciting for current and prospective students and staff to know the Business School has such strong international connections. As we develop more opportunities in a greater spread of countries, our international community continues to grow.
“Our recent trip to Asia has provided a much coveted chance to strengthen existing links and forge new partnerships, which in turn will create further opportunities for our community to collaborate with and learn from others overseas.”
