Further to the annual cycle of election this year, the Governance Team will now be running a By-Election as follows:
· X1 vacancy to represent the University Sussex Business School (USBS) from 01 Aug 2026 to 31 July 2027.
· The Faculty is currently represented as below, noting Rene Moolenaar will be leaving his position a year early on 31 July 2026, thus creating a vacancy to cover until the end of his elected term, in line with Regulation 4 – Senate.

Council Elections
- X1 vacancy to represent Postgraduate Researchers (PGR)
- X2 vacancies to represent Senate Elected Representatives*
*NB. This election will be managed by a sperate process in June once Faculty representatives have been elected to Senate.

Election procedure
The first step is the nomination of candidates and nominations forms can be found within the table below for each of the elections. Nominators should check that their nominee is willing and eligible to serve. Self-nomination is permissible.
Timeline
Nominations open: Monday 13th April 2026.
Deadline for nominations: Completed nominations forms must be returned to lg476@sussex.ac.uk by Midday on Friday 24th April 2026.
Election emails: All staff eligible to vote will receive an email in the week commencing 11th May 2026, providing details of nominees and instruction on how to vote electronically.
Voting: Will take place between 11th May and 29th May 2026, with results due w/c 1st June 2026.
We work with the Electoral Reform Society (Civica) to manage voting externally and confidentially.
