The Suss-Ex Club

The Suss-Ex Club is an association for former staff of the University of Sussex. The Club organises a range of activities, depending on what members would like and volunteer to run, as well as looking out for the concerns of retired people around the university. Many activities have taken place, and others are planned - further suggestions welcome. Details are circulated in the members' newsletter - see below.

The Club is open to all former staff, whatever their jobs were, including both those who left for other employment and those who retired. The "part-retired" are welcome to join. Members' partners are welcome to attend activities. There is no subscription at present.

Many colleagues who might like to join the Club have unfortunately not yet been contacted, owing to the inadequacies of the available lists. If you are Sussex ex-staff but have not been contacted, please give us your contact details, using the form below if convenient.

The Club has a very informal structure: it is organised by a moderately representative but not at all democratic Steering Group, chaired by our former VC Sir Gordon Conway. The Club is grateful for organisational assistance provided by the University's Development and Alumni Relations Office.

The Suss-Ex Club has negotiated cetain benefits for ex staff. As a member of the Club, you

[ball] will receive the Sussex Lectures leaflet (three times a year by post),
[ball] can take advantage of the benefits and services available to Sussex alumni.
