International Partnerships overview

Strategic partnerships with organisations and institutions overseas are central to the University’s internationalisation agenda, and an International Partnership Development Fund (IPDF) has been established to encourage and support collaboration across a range of areas.

Strategic vision for international partnerships

International partnerships form a key element of the University’s strategic vision as set out in the University’s strategy, Making the Future 2013-18.

The University is committed to building strategic international alliances to:

  • enhance the quality of research, facilitating faculty working with the very best collaborators globally;
  • recruit cohorts of high quality students, well equipped to succeed on their degrees at Sussex;
  • provide outstanding opportunities for Sussex students to study and undertake research abroad; and
  • developing the University's profile globally and regionally.

The International Partnerships team within the International Office can provide advice and support to academic colleagues on developing overseas links, and this section of the internal web pages provides guidance on:

  • the types of partnership activity supported,
  • procedures for approval and monitoring,
  • the International Partnership Development Fund,
  • existing international partnerships, and
  • key contacts when considering a new partnership.
