CRES taskforce – community
Through the CRES taskforce, we have donated large volumes of medical supplies, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and have achieved CE certification for a new design for a laser-cut face shield.
Many members of our community have also been working with the NHS and other institutions. Sixteen staff and students have been assigned as NHS ‘bank’ staff to support non-Covid-19 diagnostic testing. Meanwhile, teaching staff from BSMS were seconded to the NHS, with additional voluntary support provided by the Schools of Psychology and Education and Social Work.
BSMS shared their digital learning platform with all UK medical schools, with a 90% take-up rate, and accelerated the graduation of their final-year medical students to enable them to join the NHS in May.
