Biography
Dr. Simona Iammarino is Reader at the Science and Technology Policy Research (SPRU), University of Sussex, UK. Previous positions include: Lecturer at the University of Rome "La Sapienza"; Visiting Research Fellow and Lecturer at the University of Reading; Researcher at the Italian National Institute of Statistics (ISTAT); Research Fellow at the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge; Research Fellow at the Italian National Research Council (CNR).Role
Director of SPRU Research Degree Programme.
Director of SPRU Training and Guided Study Programme.
Research
Economic geography of innovation processes; Multinational corporations and the location of innovative and technological activities; Geographical and industrial clusters: theory, empirics and policy implications; Regional systems of innovation, regional/local differentials in socio-economic growth.
Principal investigator for the EU FP7 Collaborative Project on 'Intangible Assets and Regional Economic Growth' (IAREG). Collaborative Research Project under SSH-2007-1.1.2 Intangible investments and innovation in Europe. Grant agreement 216813, total grant 1,350,000 euros. Project started on 01/02/2008 (30 months).
