The School of MPS hosted their first charity football match at the Sussex Falmer Sports Complex last month in aid of Cancer Research UK and the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB).
The match was a huge success bringing together both students and staff for a joyous sunny afternoon of football, fun and food. The target of £250 was smashed, raising just under £700, split between both charities based on the final scoreline.
Materials Physics PhD student Chris Brown said: “We are really proud to have got everyone together and raised monies for two wonderful causes! Congratulations to Boson and Hove Albion for winning on the day - the whole afternoon was great fun, and something we’d love to make a yearly event; please come along next year and get involved!”
MPS organise regular events and activities as part of their wellbeing strategy and host fun, weekly social football sessions at the Falmer Sports Complex.
