Information for visitors

The University is well served by public transport and is 5 minutes walk from Falmer train station. For visitors wishing to drive to the University campus, please note that parking costs £2.50 for two hours which will need to be renewed every two hours. Please see http://www.sussex.ac.uk/efm/services/transport/campus-parking for more information.

 

Visiting the Library


Visitors are welcome to use the library. Identification, such as a passport, driving license or University ID card, must be shown. There is no charge for reference only use.

To apply for membership please complete an application form PDF icon and post it to the library. Printed copies of the guide and application form can be sent out to you on request - telephone (01273) 678487, email library.membership@sussex.ac.uk or are available from the Information Hub.

If you are a part-time or placement student, distance learner, full-time postgraduate or an academic at another UK Higher Education institution you may be eligible to join the University of Sussex Library under the SCONUL Access scheme. Please see the SCONUL website or ask for further information at your home institution.

Students attending Access courses in Sussex and Surrey colleges may be entitled to join the University of Sussex Library under our reciprocal arrangement. Please contact us for further information.

The University of Sussex library is a member of Inspire, a national programme enabling libraries from all sectors to work together and provide support for learners and potential learners. The Inspire website holds data on many of the libraries involved with Inspire, allowing you to identify;

  • which libraries hold resources on specific subjects
  • where these libraries are
  • what the terms are for visitors to access those resources
