Welcome to the Department of International Relations at Sussex International Relations at Sussex is one of the top three dedicated International Relations departments in the UK. It has developed over four decades and includes many distinguished scholars among its past and present faculty. Our research and teaching cover a wide range of themes in international relations theory, global political economy, international security, war and peace studies, the historical sociology of international relations, international development, law, ethics and gender. The department has regional expertise on Europe and North America, the Middle East, East Asia, South Asia and Latin America. A thriving community of doctoral students contributes to this research, and to the lively intellectual debate that characterises the department.
