Executive Chair of Research England to speak at Sussex Impact Day

Discussing how to have a broader reach with research at Sussex Impact Day 2017.

David Sweeney, the Executive Chair of Research England, will be the keynote speaker at this year’s Sussex Impact Day.

Sweeney, who provides leadership and oversight of Research England’s strategy and functions, will discuss the current research landscape and how it relates to impact. His presentation will be followed by a facilitated discussion around the question “What does impact mean for Sussex?” with the University of Sussex Vice Chancellor, Adam Tickell, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Saul Becker, the Pro Vice Chancellor for Research, Michael Davies and David Sweeney. Sussex Impact Day is an annual day of activities, including interactive workshops and talks, designed to help researchers have greater impact with their work. It will take place on Tuesday 19 June in the Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts (ACCA). The events are grouped around four session themes running in parallel across the day:

  • Working with external partners
  • Methods and tools
  • Research Excellence Framework (REF)
  • Making your research visible
