New Designers Exhibition 2015

In addition to the Sussex design show a number of students are selected to exhibit their work at a national design show in London each July.

This year, two graduates from the University of Sussex received on the spot job offers when they attended graduate design show – New Designers 2015.

Former BSc Product Design students from Sussex joined hundreds of other graduates from across the UK to show off their outstanding work at the event, which is now in its 30th year.

The four day show is put on every year and gives newly graduated students the chance to impress industry experts and the press with their projects.

During the event, held at the Business Design Centre in Islington, graduates from Sussex were approached by a huge number of interested parties including industry experts, interested in taking their projects forward.

Two graduates even received job offers working in bespoke furniture and sustainable packaging sectors.

Graduates from the course were also featured as bloggers ‘top picks’ and were interviewed about their projects by journalists.

This year the University of Sussex stand was designed and built by final year students as part of their module ‘The Role of Design in the Circular Economy’ under the guidance of Associate Tutor and Circular Economy Designer Claire Potter.

The stand featured a range of innovative design and material decisions, from reused binder clips for profile sheets, to recycled paint and upcycled elements from previous stands.
