Applications for 2013 ESRC DTC Studentships are now CLOSED.
All applicants have been informed of the outcome of their application.
Details of the 2014 Call for Applications will be announced in the Autumn 2013.
Information from 2013 Call for Applications:
Doctoral Training in the Sussex ESRC DTC is organised into six interdisciplinary pathways, each of which corresponds to one of Sussex’s academic Schools of Studies, and caters for doctoral researchers from each of its constituent Departments and Interdisciplinary Programmes.
Please Note: Applicants MUST apply for an appropriate programme in the relevant department via http://www.sussex.ac.uk/study/pg/applying. Ideally, they should do this well in advance so that they are able to discuss their proposal with the relevant department before they apply for an ESRC DTC Studentship.
+3 Collaborative Studentship
A collaborative Studentship (+3 only) must demonstrate a formal collaborative relationship with a partner outside the University sector: private sector companies; public sector bodies; or voluntary organizations.
For more details on Collaborative Studentships, please see the Sussex ESRC DTC definition of Collaborative Studentships [PDF 49.38KB]
The strongest applications will:
- involve the PhD student spending at least 9 months working within the partner organisation during the time of registration in pursuit of a research degree
- involve a substantive financial contribution from the partner institution to the DTC
- identify the contribution ‘in kind’ of the partner institution to the student/ studentship.
