Historians of the Twentieth Century United States (HOTCUS) Annual Meeting 2010

The Third Annual HOTCUS Conference will be held at The Marcus Cunliffe Centre for the Study of the American South at the University of Sussex on 1-3 July 2010. The conference will feature forty-seven papers on all topics concerning the history of the United States from 1890 to the present by speakers from the United Kingdom, the United States, and continental Europe. Nancy MacLean, Professor of History and African American Studies at Northwestern University, will deliver the keynote address on July 1. Her talk is entitled: "'To Make Democracy Safe for the World': The Southern U.S. Sources for the Global Push for Privatization." 

The Historians of the Twentieth Century United States is an organization that promotes the broader awareness of, and exchange on, the U.S. during the century just past. Membership is open to all.
