Teaching
SCIH offers postgraduate programmes in Intellectual History for prospective MA and MPhil/DPhil research students. Our MA in Intellectual History is recognised internationally as a leading programme in the field, whilst students on our DPhil and highly flexible MPhil programmes repeatedly produce significant advances in academic research.
In addition, SCIH offers the new Certificate in Intellectual History for visiting undergraduates to Sussex. Entitled 'Democracy, Commerce and Empire in the West', the course ensures that students have the necessary skills to understand the recent history of the West, using electronic databases of primary source materials, and with a view to more advanced study.
All research students at SCIH are invited to actively participate in the Graduate Student Forum, an informal seminar for presenting research and discussing ideas.
