Sussex economics graduate appointed as Botswana's youngest ever MP

A Sussex economics graduate has been appointed as the youngest ever MP in Botswana since the country's Declaration of Independence from the UK in 1966. 

Trade economist Bogolo Kenewendo, 29, graduated from Sussex with an MSc in International Economics in 2013 after completing a BA in Economics at the University of Botswana.

She was appointed as Specially Elected Member of Parliament in October 2016 and has announced that an initial priority for her time in office will be to engage young constituents using social media.
