BMEc Employer Reception, 6 December 2012
The Department of Business and Managementwelcomed employers from across Sussex and Kent to the inaugural Employer Reception in the Jubilee Building on 6 December. Professor Ian Davidson opened the event with a presentation about the School and our enthusiasm for exploring collaboration with businesses on all kind of levels – joint research, consultancy and knowledge exchange, as well as career opportunities for our students.
Adele Browne talked about the structure of Business and Management placement degrees and the benefits to both parties of a successful placement year. This was followed by informal networking over wine and nibbles, with the chance for students to chat to employers about their placement interests and the skills and insights they would bring to a placement role. Guests included Virgin Holidays, Education Travel Group, Sussex Police, the Arabian Tent Company, HR Point, Litigation Protection, Metricell and Education Technologies. The event has already been successful in providing new placement opportunities for Business and Management students.
