Supporting staff through Covid-19
Looking after your physical and mental wellbeing has been a priority and ensuring you can work from home with access to the right information and support:
- HR worked quickly to support the new ways of working for all staff, and also made a successful application to the Government’s Job Retention Scheme (furlough) - a measure that we needed to take to protect the University financially. HR have provided advice and guidance to staff; including workshops and training for staff.
- Ongoing communication - Provided regular communications updates to staff on the latest government guidance and University updates (via webpages, news stories, video messages and emails etc.)
- Staff engagement - We have held virtual staff engagement events - this PS Bigger Picture today, 2 VC Open Forums, and 3 finance webinars, with the opportunity for staff to ask questions
- TEL – has provided vital support for academic colleagues to deliver teaching in a remote format
- Wellbeing - the Organisational Development have created and compiled resources and advice for looking after your wellbeing while working from home, and the chaplaincy have delivered regular mindfulness sessions online
- Sussexsport has provided free online exercise classes – enabling staff to keep fit in their own homes.
