*Retakes take the form of resits or sits. For Resits the mark used for classification will be capped at the bare pass mark (40% FHEQ levels 3-6, 50% FHEQ level 7). The full mark acheived will be shown on Diploma Supplements/Transcripts along with an indication that the mark was acheived at resit. Sits are for the full academic mark and are awarded in cases where a student has mitigating circumstances accepted by the mitigating evidence process. The full mark from sits is used for classification and shown on the Diploma Supplements/Transcript. The transcript shows sits in exactly the same way as initial attempts, i.e. the mark looks like it was acheived at the first attempt, as technically a sit is a deferred first atttempt.
