Where to find help and support for students in MPS
There are a number of people within MPS, and services across the univeristy, who can help you. If you feel you need extra support or advice do get in touch.

Student Centre
The Student Centre provides advice and support on all areas of student support here at Sussex, including disability support, visas, finance, housing and general health and wellbeing. Their friendly Welcome Team can be contacted by email or phone, they are also open for face to face visitors 8:30am - 5pm Monday - Friday. The team will direct you to relevant service and help you make appointments should you need 1:1, confidential, support.
You can also use My Sussex to access support services, find information or advice.
Academic Advisors
Your academic advisor is there to discuss and support your academic progress. You can check the name and contact details for your advisor on Sussex Direct.
Your Student Reps
If you have feedback about your course or modules, or ideas for an idea for an extra curricular activity that might be of interest to others in MPS you can contact your student rep. Each year cohort has at least one rep, and we also have additional student reps for specific groups including LGBT+ students, neurodiverse students and international students.
Student rep nominations and elections take place in September/early October and are run by the Student's Union.

Mental Health

If you are in crisis:
If you have reached crisis point and feel at risk of self-harm or of harm to others, call 999, visit A&E or call the Mental Health Rapid Response service (MHRRS) on 03003 040078.
You can also access the 24/7 mental health crisis line (also known locally as Sussex Mental Healthline) by calling 111 and selecting the mental health option.
