Student Life Centre

Welfare drop-ins

Important information – COVID 19 service changes

The Student Life Centre services continue and, although we are unable to offer our drop-in service at this time, the team are responding to all email enquiries.

Alternatively, you can complete our enquiry form and a member from the team will be in contact.

We often respond to enquiries on the same day and can schedule a telephone call-back or Zoom appointment for more complex issues.

Sometimes you may wish to recieve help or advice as soon as possible. If you are concerned about your welfare or wellbeing a meeting with an Advisor may help you manage your issue.  We have on the day advice sessions available at core times and we reserve some advisor availability for the day or early the next day for students with pressing concerns.

How it Works

Depending on demand and availability emails will be picked up and an Advisor can provide a welfare response on in the day or the next morning.

These sessions are not bookable in advance. Send us an email and someone will arrange for you to be seen as soon as possible. There may be a wait but you will be seen in a private room by an Advisor and they will aim to address your immediate needs and concerns

You can expect to be treated with respect and concern, however, any session where you are immediate distress may not be able to address all your needs, so this can be followed up with a further appointment, if necessary.

Who You’ll Talk With

You will be able to talk with a Student Life Advisor staffing the drop-in, when they are available or be contacted by another Advisor later that day or the next morning, this could be any of our Student Life Advisors, all of whom are trained to support students with a range of issues and problems.
