Questions and answers

When using Windows Remote can I print to a local(attached) printer?

You need to edit the session section of the remote desktop and tick the print to local printers box.

1) If you have windows remote open then start by logging off from that.

2) Then if its not already open start the Microsoft remote desktop app again.

3) Highlight the University windows remote but do not connect, instead click on the edit (which I think looks like a pencil on the icon at the top)

4) You should see 3 options/tabs at the top of the next screen, General, Session and Redirection, click on Session.

5) There should be 3 or 4 tick boxes, one of which says forward printing to local devices (or similar), tick that box.

6) Save the settings and then connect to the Uni windows remote as you would normally do, when you try to print something it should offer your local

printer(s) to print to as well as any already on the server.

7) Select a local printer
